I'm already sick of hearing you "wish we could help you with this one!" Not everyone knows everything, and some people just want to be here to complain. So, really who does that help? Anyways, that's why I'm writing this.
An introduction on what blogs are and how to get started is very helpful for everyone because it's all about the same basic steps. It took me 4 hours just to get on my site and a search engine CD a week ago. Blogging isn't rocket science, but it takes a little bit of time. Not only that but it will also take a little time for you to find your niche or what your blog is going to be about. When I first started I didn't know what my niche was going to be yet. I had been posting on the forums for about a year and decided that I wanted more. If you're still confused about what a niche is, it's the subject of your blog. In our case it's an Apple Blog, but it could be anything relating to computers or technology in general.
Blogging is essentially just writing your thoughts, opinions, and experiences in sequential order. You then post these articles on a blog site. This is one of the reasons that we use WordPress, because it's free and has all the basic apps and plugins you need to get started. As far as blogs go, you're going to want something that's easy to work with and has a decent amount of tutorials available. Also, make sure it doesn't look like everybody else's because if it does, no one is going to visit your blog. I am using WordPress because I believe that you can't beat free (at least for now).
I was on Blogger for a little while but I'm glad that I found this site and switched over. Others may argue that Blogger is better, but after learning how to use WordPress I don't see what the big deal with Blogger is. For me it's just easier to switch over here.
